SoPlayer on a MAG box

A MAG box has no username and no password. It is tied to its MAC address, so that gets registered first, and the portal fills once it is.

Send us the MAC address

It is printed on the label under the box and shown in System Settings, in the form 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX. Send it on WhatsApp before anything else, because the portal stays empty until it is registered.

Open the portal settings

  1. 1.Once the box has started, open Settings, or press SETUP or SET on the remote.
  2. 2.Go to System Settings, then Servers, then Portals.

Enter the portal URL

  1. 1.Portal 1 Name: anything you like.
  2. 2.Portal 1 URL: the portal address we sent over WhatsApp.
  3. 3.Press OK to save.

Set the time server and restart

  1. 1.In System Settings, open the time or NTP section.
  2. 2.Enter us.pool.ntp.org, or pool.ntp.org from outside North America.
  3. 3.Leave the settings and choose Restart Portal.
Note. The box needs the correct time to line the programs up against the channels, so an empty guide on a MAG nearly always means the NTP server was skipped.

MAG boxes activate by MAC, which is why the address comes first. Formuler boxes do the same through MYTV Online, and BuzzTV boxes use a portal screen that looks almost the same. Read the channel list before buying a box.
